Office of Services for Students with Disabilities
Services for Students with Disabilities (SSWD) provides services to students with visual impairments, learning disabilities, mobility impairments, hearing impairments, chronic health problems and psychological disabilities (i.e. a diagnosed mental illness or disorder that substantially limits one or more major life activities). They offer selected student services which are not provided by other University offices or outside organizations including advice, support and advocacy to students with disabilities and referrals for professional evaluations and testing for conditions. Students with diagnosed psychiatric disorders may be eligible for special academic accommodations or tutoring. Students should meet with SSWD staff to discuss appropriate services and register with SSWD to take advantage of benefits. Professors require 2 week notice for special arrangements regarding exams.
